just do it bro.

this is a post that's really just a reminder for myself whenever I start to think about myself too much.

I uploaded the first episode of my new podcast today and seeing the final product excited me in a way that I didn't think was possible. I've done podcasts before, but something about this one just fills me with a lot of joy. A space that I get to have and share with my online mutuals and we talk about art while making art is what my soul has been craving for sooooooo long.

I honestly didn't know how people would respond to it, but the fact that they showed interest off the jump really affirmed something for me:

If you want to do something and have an idea, just do it bro.

Like nothing is stopping you from achieving what you need other than yourself. Plus, who knows if the world is even gonna exist within the next few years. Just do whatever it is you want to do and don't allow fear to get in the way. Fear is just our bodies telling us to prepare. Sometimes, we're just preparing for the best to come.

I don't know, as someone who struggles with hopelessness and existential dread, creating shit has been the only thing keeping me afloat. There's no better high than seeing the ideas you have in your head come into fruition. Even if this podcast is not successful and flops, fuck it at least I can say I made a podcast. And i think its pretty damn good.

so it goes...

Hello!

My name is Sydney and this is my attempt at a blog. I don't really know what I'm doing and what I plan to do with this, but I wanted to create something that I can just put random shit on, so here goes nothing.

I guess to introduce myself:

Name: Sydney or Syd

Age: 25

Race/Ethnicity: African American (pretty obvious tho lol)

Location: Tennessee

Occupation: Freelancer (Social Media Manager and Writer)

Hobbies: Crochet, Knitting, Making YouTube videos, Reading, Gaming, Going on walks, Trying new recipes, Sewing, Blogging ig

Fun fact: I'm diabetic :p

I was raised on the internet and have always wanted to have my own blog. Though I guess I often compare myself to other bloggers who's blogs are a lot more stylish and intricate, but I guess that stuff takes time. Just like with a website, which I have, but I wanted a separate creative space for my ramblings and such. I'll probably move over the blog posts that are on my website to here just so I can keep things organized.

But yeah, this is my blog and to anyone reading, welcome to the misadventures of a black 20something :D
